Regarding question 2, does this apply to Ziploc bags as well? Will the cheaper low-quality ones be able to keep in the freezer without burn at all or will the freezer burn just occur at, for example, one month vs a year in a high quality container? How much does the quality of the container determine it's ability to keep food in the freezer without getting freezer burn? I would like to use them to keep leftover ingredients and/or whole meals. I'm a bit suspicious of their quality due to the price. I bought a few unknown brand food storage containers and I also bought some McCormick ones. I stop there a lot, because I'm still learning what, at that store, is actually good and what isn't. The closest store to me is actually a Dollar Tree and I drive past it on my way home from work every day. I want to freeze a lot of it, like soups or pasta to bring to work so I dont have to spend $5 for a cheeseburger from the Hormel machine. But for now, I am cooking for myself, so I have a lot of extra food every meal. I'm also waiting for my wife's visa to be approved so she can come here with my daughter. Now, I'm in America, where the closest Walmart is about a 20 minute drive. So I just moved to America a few months ago, the country I lived in before had markets within 5 minutes of pretty much every neighborhood, so I would only buy food and ingredients for a few days at a time.
